Portuguese Golden Residence Permit
According to decree-law 249/2009, investors that aren’t permanent residents in Portugal benefit from a flat-rate of 20% on income. Moreover there’s no taxation on pensions and income earned in other countries.There are more than fifty non-double taxation agreements between Portugal and other countries.There are no donations and inheritance tax.
According to law 29/2012, non-EU residents that purchase property in excess of 500.000 € in Portugal can automatically apply for a Golden Residence Permit. The process is quick and simple. This permit allows free circulation among EU countries and the Schengen Zone. After five years the residence permit can turn into permanent and after six years there’s the possibility of applying for Portuguese citizenship.
